Library Orientation Day Report


Date: 27th September 2025
Venue: Ground Floor Seminar Hall

The Library Orientation Programme was successfully conducted on 27th September 2025 in the Ground Floor Seminar Hall to acquaint students with the facilities, resources, and rules of the college library. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, and enthusiastic students.

  • Dr. Gordhan Devnani –Principal
  • Dr. Yuthika Sawant – Vice Principal
  • Dr. Prakash Deshmukh –Advocate Senior Faculty Member
  • Ms. Rutuja Chavan – Chairperson, Culture Committee
  • All Faculty Members

All committee members and students were present for the programme.

Welcome Address & Introduction:

Mrs. Kalpana Gaikwad, the Librarian, warmly welcomed all attendees and introduced the importance of the library in a student’s academic.

"In today’s digital age, books still hold an irreplaceable place in education. A well-equipped fully air conditioned library supports both students and teachers in exploring all areas of study."

She emphasized the library’s crucial role in academic development and highlighted the valuable resources available to law students.

Library Orientation Presentation Highlights:

The Library Orientation PPT was presented by Mrs. Kalpana Gaikwad, covering the following sections:

 

Slide 1: Reading Section

  • Reading Hall Capacity: 50+ students
  • Strict silence policy
  • No mobile phones or discussions allowed
  • Mandatory College ID and entry in Usage Register

Slide 2: Circulation Section

  • Collection includes textbooks, reference books, fiction, and motivational books
  • Library Cards:

·         5-Year B.A.LL. B: 1 Borrower + 1 Reference Card

·         3-Year LL. B: 2 Borrower + 1 Reference Card

  • Books can be reissued twice

Slide 3: Journals & Magazines

v  19 national journals and magazines

v  Journals to be returned before leaving the section

Slide 4: Multimedia Section

  • Location: 4th Floor
  • 4 Computers with Internet
  • Access to:

v  DgLaw Software (Supreme Court & High Court citations)

  • DgLaw Training to be conducted within one month

  • Paid photocopying facility on the 3rd Floor

Vote of Thanks:

The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Anisha Kulye, student. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, librarian, and students for making the orientation programme informative and successful.

Conclusion:

The orientation session was a great success, providing the students with a clear understanding of the library’s offerings and guidelines. The students were encouraged to use the library for research, reading, and academic excellence.
